Day 3, Lincoln City, OR to Florence, OR, 79 miles 3610 feet of climbing. Another wonderful day on the West Coast. The weather was a repeat of yesterday but the wind was blowing stronger out of the north. Bonus! It was foggy til mid morning and I found myself obsessing over all of the incredible views I was missing. By 10:30 am the fog was gone and I was focusing on the incredible scenery. It was majestic!! Was able to see some seal, sea lions and sea otters. They were in the water congregating around rocks waiting for the tide to come in. Had I been there an hour later I would have seen them piled onto the rocks. The riding is going very well. I am feeling strong and relaxed. The bike is performing well too. We make quite a team! The roads are a bikers dream come true. Smooth, wide shoulders and very considerate, accomodating drivers. In fact I have noticed that the people of Oregon are generally very kind, welcoming and helpful. I always wondered where Kate and JC got their "good heartedness". It has to be from their Oregon roots!!

All along Highway 101 there are these little shops just waiting to serve me,

Early morning fog.

If you look closely you can see a house on the top of the point.

Somewhere down there are seals, sea lions and sea otters.

Barbara staffs the SAG wagon.  Twice a day we know where she will be parked and waiting for us to come in to get water, snacks, etc..

Some old historic bridge

I aborted a 40 mph descent to take this pic.  I should have never stopped as the pic does not do the view justice.
