Day 7, Crescent City, CA rest day.  Went to bed early and slept like a baby.  Up at 6 am.  Ate a bit at the motel and went back to bed for an hour.  Returned to the breakfast room for round 2.  Headed out on a walk after getting a triple Espresso.  Hung out at the beach and walked for awhile.  Ate an outrageously large burrito (not as good as Conrad's but close).  Returned to the room for an hour nap.  Went for a 10 mile ride up the coast and sat on the beach for an hour listening to the seals.  Spent a lot of time on the phone (Mima had to bring me up to date on her amazing Grandboyz).  Getting ready now to go find some food for dinner.  Plan to get to bed early in preparation of riding thru the Redwoods tomorrow.  I am one lucky guy.  Life Is Good, Very Very Good!!!

P.S. Our ride leader, Mike Munk also keeps a blog.  You can check it out at: http://bamacyclist.com/BAMA/West_2013/West_2013.html

Morning beach at Crescent City.

I have decided that it is not the helmet, beard, or camera that makes my face look "pudgey", it is my biking shorts.  They compress my butt and force the bulk/mass up into my upper torso and face.  This pic in regular shorts proves it.  If I do say so myself, I think I look pretty good!

Have seen lots of very large and beautiful hydrangeas.

This place is right next to the motel.  If you look closely you will notice than you can also get a hair cut there!!

Sat at this rock for an hour listening to the sea lions.

  1. Are you touring the coast line of Oregon & California or all the quaint expresso cafes (that happen to be on the coast)?

If you threw in garage time your routine doesn't sound too different from home. Get up, expresso, eat, expresso (with Morning Joe), more expresso, ride bike, more expresso, garage time, more expresso, eat lunch, nap, garage time, martini, eat dinner, garage time and bed. Start all over again the next day!
