Today I packed up all of  my stuff and left home to begin the adventure. My first stop was in Brighton where I watched Leisa, Jared and Elizabeth paricipate in a half/sprint triathalon (1/2 mile swim, 12 mile bike ride and 3 mile run). Leisa has been preparing very hard for her first triathalon and was excited to put all of her training to the test.  Anybody who knows her can attest to the fact that if Leisa decides to do something she is going to do it right.  Since this past winter she has joined the YMCA, swam 3-4 times per week, lifted weights, ran, biked and worked with a personal trainer.  And tonite all of her hard work paid off when she took first place in her age division with a time of 1:44.  Very impressive for her first outing in this event!  Something tells me this will not be her last triathalon.  I am VERY proud of her!!

After the race Jared took me to Sarah and Cindy's where I am spending the night.  I cannot wait to get up in the morning to eat breakfast with Garrett and Ezra!  Sarah will take me to the airport to catch my 8:51 a.m. flight out of Detroit Metro.  I just checked with FedEx and my bike will be there on Friday when I arrive.

She was a blurrr when she crossed the finish line

Elizabeth placed 3rd in her division (her Dad correctly pointed out that she is 1st in our hearts).  Jared placed 5th but would have placed 1st if they had a Clydesdale division!

My money says this bottle will sit empty on a shelf by the time I get home.  Drink up Leisa you earned it!!  XOXOXOXOXOX

  1. Thanks for the shout out & for cheering me on last night at the Tri. It was lots of fun (and hard work) but I am glad that I did it. Now you go and kick butt on your bike ride!!!

Don't you worry I will take care of things on the home front. First challenge, a call from Jack that he got ass ended on the way to school. Drove the damaged van home & will take it in for estimates to get repaired. (I know if you were home you would do the repairs yourself or just build a new car for him to drive.
